Wayne Rooney’s fall from grace has been quite spectacular.
The club captain is now struggling to get into Jose Mourinho’s team and, according to The Mirror, United now want to replace him with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.
France international Griezmann is one of the best players in the world right now and the 25-year-old is in fine form.
Griezmann scored six goals at Euro 2016 and has already hit the net six times in seven La Liga games this season, as well as providing two assists.
The Mirror report that Griezmann has snubbed interest from French champions PSG and that he is keen on a move to the Premier League.
United are not the only English club said to be after Griezmann, with The Mirror adding that Chelsea are also in the frame.
Griezmann is valued at £80m, so say The Mirror, who claim that both Chelsea and United are willing to meet such an asking price.
