Manchester United boast a pretty dominate head-to-head record over Liverpool in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have won 27 of their 48 previous encounters with their fierce rivals, who have only tasted victory 13 times.
Despite their inferior history, Liverpool will be favourites on Monday night when United come to Anfield for Prem meeting no.49.
Liverpool can move six points clear of United if they win. And they will, according to confident Reds forward Sadio Mane.
Most footballers stick to the script ahead of big games… ‘It’s going to be a tough match, but if we play to our potential there’s every chance of us coming away with three points,’ is usually as far as players will go.
However, Mane has stuck his neck on the line by basically promising that Liverpool will beat United.
“We are going to beat Manchester United,” Mane told The Telegraph.
He added: “Of course. We all believe it. We are going to make it.”
Mane tasted victory the last time he faced United, helping Southampton to a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford in January.
