Ryan Giggs admits Man United have to ‘accept’ Jose Mourinho’s boring football

Manchester United legend and former assistant manager Ryan Giggs has admitted that fans will have to ‘accept’ Jose Mourinho’s boring football if they are to challenge for titles.

The ‘special one’ frustrated both Liverpool and neutral football fans following his defensive display on Monday in the much anticipated clash with the Reds. In fact, United had the lowest possession stats they’ve ever recorded in the Premier League with just 35%.

However, Giggs defended Mourinho citing the tough run of games on the horizon and United’s recent history.

“It’s something we accept at the minute. It’s the climate we’re in. You see the games coming up – if you lose tonight the pressure is on,” Giggs said speaking on SkySports after the game.

“Going up against Liverpool – everyone expected Liverpool to blow United away.”

Manchester United dropped out of the top six following their draw with Liverpool and find themselves five points behind joint leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Red Devils take on the Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday before traveling to London to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

United also face their rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford before the end of the month.
