Chelsea target who has already scored six goals this season makes decision on his future

Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco has extended his contract with the club until 2022.

Spanish based website Sport claimed yesterday that Chelsea had been showing interest in the winger, but news of a new contract has surely squashed those rumours.

Carrasco, who has already scored six goals so far this season for club and country, would no doubt have strengthened the Blues’ options on the wings. He may now be out of Antonio Conte’s price-range with some rumours suggesting his buy-out clause has more than doubled with this new extension.

Atetico Madrid have proven to be somewhat of a feeder club to Chelsea in recent years. In the summer of 2014, José Mourinho broke the bank for Atletico pair Filipe Luis and Diego Costa. He also recalled Thibaut Courtois from his loan at the Spanish side and made him number one at the Bridge. Chelsea subsequently went on to win the title, so it would be no surprise if they decided to go shopping at Simeone’s side once more.
