Liverpool defender could leave in Jan, may follow Jack Wilshere to same rehab centre

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez was an instant hit at Anfield following his 2015 arrival from Charlton Athletic.

The versatile teenager started Liverpool’s first five Premier League games last season, before injury struck.

A knee problem picked up in September cut his first campaign with the Reds very short and he then went on to suffer another setback over the summer.

However, the 19-year-old is now back in training and ready to make his much-awaited comeback.

Long-term, Gomez could be a very good player for the Reds, but he could be loaned out in January, with Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town both keen on taking him, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Presumably, Bournemouth would be Gomez’s preference – as he will likely want to stay in the Premier League.

Bournemouth is currently where Jack Wilshere (pictured searching for his manhood) is being rehabilitated – regular first-team football as his therapy – after multiple injury-hit seasons with Arsenal.

The Gunners star will be hoping to make a big impact at his parent club upon his return from the South Coast.

Gomez striking a similar deal with the Cherries could be beneficial for all involved.
