Lampard expects Chelsea fans to respect Jose Mourinho

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard expects fans of the club to show former manager Jose Mourinho respect when Manchester United take on the Blues on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

“He might get a slightly mixed bag. But on the whole, the general reception will be very thankful for what he did at lsealsea,” Lampard told the Sun.

Lampard revealed that Mourinho will be looking forward to returning to the Chelsea stadium and that he will be determined the win.

“He will relish going back and he will want to win,” he added.

The former Chelsea player stated that Mourinho hates losing and that he will do everything in his power to avoid defeat.

Lampard added: “Look at how he set up against Liverpool on Monday.

“He didn’t want to lose, he was on the touchline. You could see the emotion on his face. You will see the same on Sunday.

“I was there when he came back with Inter Milan and he had the same mentality. Chelsea will be very aware of that.”

Mourinho is no stranger to facing Chelsea. He guided Inter Milan to victory over the Blues seven years ago beating his former side in the Champions League.

Lampard played under Mourinho’s stewardship at Chelsea enjoying a successful spell under the stewardship of the Portuguese manager.

The former Blues star won three Premier League titles, four FA Cup trophies, the Champions League and the Europa League during his time at the club.

Mourinho has enjoyed two spells at Chelsea and won the league title three times during his time in charge of the club.
