We’ve seen Jose Mourinho in a variety of different modes over the years: angry, sarcastic, happy and brooding.
But the humiliation he suffered at the hands of Chelsea on Sunday has clearly taken him to a new level.
While some were expecting Jose to be out on the training pitch for double sessions with the players, screaming his head off, according to Goal, Mourinho has vanished from sight altogether.
The Portuguese manager is apparently working from within his office, allowing assistant Rui Faria to lead training for the first team squad.
He also apparently “watches” from a distance, making his decisions far from the action. His players have a huge game against Manchester City on Wednesday night, and there’s likely to be serious changes to Mourinho’s lineup.
This new system of punishment is certainly novel, and it remains to be seen whether it will work. All that is certain is that things can’t really get much worse for United.
