Jose Mourinho’s attitude criticised by Barcelona legend who accuses him of looking for war

Barcelona legend Xavi has criticised Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s attitude, claiming that he “looks to go to war”, report Spanish newspaper Marca.

Xavi faced up against Mourinho during their time at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively. The Spaniard accused him of being getting distracted from the football during rough periods: “Sometimes when things aren’t going well, he looks to go to war instead of concentrating on football, like when he was at Real Madrid.”

The former world-champion’s theory may have been proven correct at the weekend, as Mourinho exchanged angry words with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The Guardian reported that ‘The Special One’ felt that Conte was trying to humiliate him, as the Italian attempted to lift the Stamford Bridge crowd while his side led 4-0.

Ultimately, the humiliating was done on the pitch and it was Mourinho’s side who fell victim to it. They were second best on the day and sit seventh in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Manchester City.

Mourinho ought to focus on his team’s shortfalls on the field, rather than creating drama off of it.
