Fans react to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s first-half display

It hasn’t been an easy few weeks for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better for him this evening.

Manchester United face-off against rivals Manchester City in the EFL Cup this evening and he leads the line for United. Not only is a place in the cup quarter-finals at stake, but so is Ibrahimovic’s reputation.

He has already had to endure criticism after suffering from his worst league goal drought for over a decade. Zlatan had not previously gone five league games without scoring a goal since he was at Inter Milan in 2006.

Tonight was the perfect opportunity to hit back at his critics, but he has so far failed to do so.

Jose Mourinho’s patience may be running out with the forward, just as it did with captain Wayne Rooney after a string of ineffective performances.

A number of fans have already turned against Ibrahimovic, however, with supporters from both United and rival sides taking to Twitter to slate the big Swede.
