Jose Mourinho continues to shun star player who scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists last campaign

Have you seen Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan? He hasn’t featured for Jose Mourinho’s side since September 10th when he was hauled off at half-time during his side’s 2-1 derby defeat.

The Armenian moved to Old Trafford in the summer for a fee, as reported by Sky Sports, in the region of £26.3 million. He has played just 107 of United’s 801 minutes in the Premier League so far this campaign, and is missing again tonight.

Transfermarkt report that he has been struggling with a muscle injury, but all signs suggest that he was available to play in tonight’s EFL cup tie against Manchester City, and he hasn’t been included in United’s 18-man squad.

A week ago, Manchester Evening News reporter Rob Dawson revealed that Mkhitaryan was fit. He wasn’t involved then, and he won’t be making an appearance this evening.

Tonight he has been pictured arriving at Old Trafford in a full tracksuit, with no visible sign of injury. It is a mystery why he has not been included.

Mkhitaryan scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists in the Bundesliga last season, a direct goal contribution every 99 minutes he was on the pitch. With United struggling in recent weeks, you feel as though Mourinho could do with a player of his quality in his side.
