Liverpool midfielder shows Klopp that he’s ready for action – at Anfield or elsewhere

In a scrappy game between Liverpool and Tottenham where both sides played a number of youngsters and fringe players, it was hard to pick out individuals who truly excelled.

Daniel Sturridge made the headlines with his two goals, but there were plenty of new faces who made subtler impressions.

Among those players was Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart. The midfielder was quietly efficient in midfield, and finished the game with some impressive statistics. Controlling the game from the middle of the pitch, Stewart played 60 short passes and 8 long balls, more than anyone else in the game. He touched the ball 84 times too, showing just how involved he was in the match.

Steward is already 23, but has never broken into Liverpool’s side. If he isn’t willing to play him more regularly, Jurgen Klopp should really consider a loan move for the Englishman in January, who clearly has the quality and just needs the experience now.
