Arsenal are better with France international striker Olivier Giroud in the team according to football pundit Jermaine Jenas.
Despite being in great form Jenas revealed that he believes the Gunners would benefit from having the powerful striker back in the team.
The former Tottenham man revealed that Giroud would allow Alexis Sanchez, Alex Iwobi, Walcott and Mesut Ozil to really unleash their talent with the striker as the main target man.
“I still think they’re better with Giroud in the team,” the former Tottenham midfielder was quoted as saying by Goal [via BBC Five Live]. “Only because he allows Sanchez, Iwobi, Walcott, Ozil – the three behind him – to play a lot better with him as a focal point.”
The Gunners have coped well with Giroud out injured. Sanchez has excelled playing upfront this season scoring six times and providing seven assists for the North London based outfit.
Ozil has also been impressive going forwards having scored six goals for the Gunners.
Giroud may have to fight for his place back in the team as a result of his teammates recent form. Head coach Arsene Wenger may decide not to disrupt the current balance he has in his team.
