Jose Mourinho ready to launch £135m bid to take Barcelona ace to Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to splash out and spend a staggering £135m in order to sign Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan international joined the Catalan giants from Liverpool in 2014, and went on to score an impressive 59 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions for the club last season, while he’s added 10 in 13 so far this year.

However, with Lionel Messi and Neymar signing new contracts, Don Balon claim that Barca could be willing to cash in and Jose Mourinho is ready to swoop to take the 29-year-old to Old Trafford with a figure of around £135m being touted.

Should Suarez fail to agree on new terms at the end of the season, it could spark United into life with the Premier League giants ready to make their move and bolster their attacking options.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney struggling for goals and with Mourinho preferring to play the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the wing, it appears as though the Red Devils could do with another striker.

However, they will face competition as the report adds that Manchester City are also monitoring Suarez’s situation with doubts arising over Sergio Aguero’s future at the club.

The Argentine forward was dropped by Pep Guardiola for recent clashes with Barcelona and United despite scoring 11 goals in his first six games this season, with a few eyebrows raised over whether or not the Spanish tactician sees him fitting into his plans.

Suarez would undoubtedly be a perfect fit for City, but it appears as though the two Manchester clubs will have to engage in a transfer battle to try and convince Suarez to leave the Nou Camp, depending on whether or not Barca offer him a new deal and persuade him to commit himself in the long-term.
