Ibrahimovic almost left Burnley goalkeeper with broken arm as barren run continues

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has revealed that a shot from Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost broke his arm, report Metro.

Heaton was in inspired form at Old Trafford and almost single-handedly earned his side a point. It could have been a lot worse of the Englishman, though, as Metro quote him describing the force of Ibrahimovic’s acrobatic effort: “I knew I had two men behind me on the line so I thought I’d get out, close the space and spread. Thankfully it has hit me but it nearly broke my arm.”

Here’s that incredible save in all it’s glory.

Ibrahimovic will not be Heaton’s biggest fan this morning, the goalkeeper denied the big Swede on several occasions. His goal-drought was extended to six league games and he has scored just once in his last ten appearances for United.

The former PSG striker, who scored 50 goals in all competitions for the French champions last campaign, has not scored with any of his last 35 attempts at goal in the Premier League. Yesterday alone he had 12 shots, but they were either wayward or Heaton stood firm.

Heaton has been involved in the England setup for some time now but has played just three minutes for his country. If he continues to produce performances like he did yesterday, he will be difficult to ignore for caretaker boss Gareth Southgate.
