Man United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan baffled over Jose Mourinho treatment claims AFF boss

Henrikh Mkhitaryan doesn’t understand why he is being snubbed by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, says Armenian football federation president Ruben Hayrapetyan.

The 27-year-old hasn’t played for United since being replaced at half-time in the Manchester derby on September 10.

Having suffered a thigh injury while on international duty prior to that, it was suggested that he aggravated the problem and has been struggling for match fitness since.

However, Mourinho has also since insisted that Mkhitaryan is fit but the former Borussia Dortmund star remains out of the squad for now.

Hayrapetyan has tried to make sense of the situation at Old Trafford, but has revealed that Mkhitaryan is as confused by it all as he is.

“I cannot know what the Manchester United manager is thinking about,” he said, according to Armenpress. I have talked with Mkhitaryan, he also doesn’t know what Jose Mourinho is thinking. Mkhitaryan trains and is in good shape, but no one knows the reason [for his continued absence from games].”

Mkhitaryan was seen watching Saturday’s goalless draw with Burnley from the stands at Old Trafford, with supporters growing impatient over his absence from the line-up.

Given United have struggled for goals so far this season coupled with the Armenian international’s quality in the final third that he displayed during his time in Germany, it’s evident that he could make a major impact if given a chance.

However, the wait goes on to see him back in the United starting line-up, with more questions than answers over his continued absence at this point.
