Chelsea defender John Terry may be struggling to get back into the starting line-up in the Premier League, but that has given him a chance to plan his future.

The 35-year-old is currently being kept out of the team by the defensive trio of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 system.

However, having previously insisted that he hopes to have a future in coaching with evidence of his work towards getting his badges being shared on Instagram, Terry is evidently keen on looking ahead to life after his playing career comes to an end.

Based on the image below from after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Southampton on Sunday evening, it looks as though he’s well and truly in the swing of things as he led a warm down with stopwatch in hand as he dished out instructions to his teammates.

It will all be good experience for Terry when he eventually decides to call an end to his playing career, and having worked with some of the top managers from around the world during his time at Stamford Bridge, he’ll be confident that he has picked up plenty along the way to aid him in his future coaching plans.

With Conte seemingly giving him an early start, it looks as though Terry is keeping busy even if he isn’t playing every week.
