Cowardly Manchester City players insult Lionel Messi before fleeing for safety

Barcelona star Lionel Messi was involved in an altercation with a Manchester City player following his team’s defeat in Manchester according to reports in the Mirror.

The Argentine superstar apparently got involved with a City player who said something to him as they left the pitch.

The two were separated by Messi’s international teammate Sergio Aguero, but not before he had allegedly shouted “come back here, don’t hide” at his antagonist as they disappeared into the City dressing room.

Messi is not usually the type to get into fights, but given the tension and excitement of last night’s game, it wouldn’t be surprising if things had boiled over.

Barcelona dominated for 35 minutes and took the lead through Messi on a gorgeous counter, only for City to rampage back into the game with a stunning three goal salvo.

It must have been hard for Barca’s players to take, and it seems that even the very best sometimes let the pain of defeat get to them.
