Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele is a doubt for the North London derby at the weekend after limping off injured during his side’s Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen this evening.

Dembele was replaced by Vincent Janssen after just 16 minutes this evening, a bitter blow for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Not only could the Belgian’s absence prove costly for Spurs tonight at Wembley, if the injury is as bad as it first appeared he will surely be a doubt for the weekend’s clash with Arsenal.

Though it is still early in the season, Sunday’s game is very much a six-pointer between two sides challenging for the Premier League title. Add the bitter rivalry between the two clubs into the equation and it could prove to be a cracker.

Pochettino will certainly be concerned about Dembele’s condition. The 29-year-old has become a cornerstone in the Spurs side and was pivotal in their title pursuit last campaign. The Tottenham faithful hold their breath as they await further news on the injury.
