Chelsea working on ‘important target’ for the January transfer window

Chelsea are working on signing an ‘important’ target for the January transfer window, according to Sky Italia’s Fabrizio Romano.

In wake of the Blues’ 5-0 thrashing of Everton, the reliable Romano took to Twitter to claim that manager Antonio Conte is “really happy” and he is working with Roman Abramovich on signing an “important target” in the January
transfer window.

Romano does not name who the target is, and it could be a number of players with Chelsea being linked to star names on a daily basis.

The Mirror have claimed that Antoine Griezmann is on Conte’s radar, but it is unlikely the Frenchman will leave Atletico mid-season and the reported £70 million price-tag is steep for a January transfer.

GFFN believe that Chelsea have confirmed to PSG that they are interested in signing midfielder Javier Pastore in January. It seems like a more realistic rumour than the Griezmann one, but where would Pastore fit into the current 3-4-3 setup?

Time will tell how Chelsea go about their business in January, for now their fans will just be enjoying their five-game win streak and champagne football to match.
