Man City to battle with Man United and Chelsea for £70M striker who scored 32 goals last season

Manchester City are readying an offer of £70 million to try and sign Antoine Griezmann next summer, according to the Mirror.

The Mirror report that Griezmann, who found the back of the net 32 times in all competitions for Atletico last season, is wanted by City boss Pep Guardiola to form an all-star strike-force Sergio Aguero.

They don’t appear to be the only side interested in the Frenchman, however, with the Mirror reporting that he is also a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea.

A prospect of a Griezmann and Aguero partnership upfront for City is frightening. They contributed a combined 46 goals and seven assists last season in La Liga and the Premier League respectively.

He could also be lining up at Old Trafford next year, whether it be next to Zlatan Ibrahimovic or in place of the misfiring Swede. Manchester United scored just one league goal in October, they could certainly do with Griezmann’s goalscoring touch.

Or could it be Chelsea? The Blues already have Diego Costa and Eden Hazard who are lighting up the Premier League. The duo have begun this campaign with 16 goals and 4 assists in just 22 combined appearances. The prospect of adding Griezmann into that forward line will leave rival fans shaking in their boots.
