(Video) Arsenal legend trolls BBC pundit after backlash over world class comments

Ian Wright had a laugh at Alan Shearer’s expense on Saturday night after insisting that Eden Hazard turned in a world-class display for Chelsea.

The Newcastle United legend caused a stir last weekend when he insisted that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is the only world-class player in the Premier League.

That resulted in an angry backlash from Arsenal fans in particular who believed that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil deserved a mention in that category, and Wright seemingly picked up on it and had a giggle along with Gary Lineker and Jermaine Jenas.

Wright insisted that Hazard produced a world-class performance in Chelsea’s 5-0 demolition of Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, with all three laughing as soon as he mentioned it.

In all fairness, Shearer was probably right to leave Hazard out given the Belgian’s struggles last season as he lacked the consistency to be considered world class.

However, with five goals in his last four Premier League games, he’s starting to prove his worth to Chelsea once again.
