Leonardo Bonucci has crushed rumours about an impending move to Manchester City by denying there has been contact between him and the Premier League side.
The Italian said that the Juve shirt is “sewn to his body” in a radio interview, and denied that he had personally spoken to anyone representing City.
The centre back has been dominant both domestically and in Europe for Juventus, and has played a vital role in the Italian national team too, alongside club team mates Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini.
City are in particular need of a centre back, with Vincent Kompany’s injury problems finally appearing to reach the point of no return. Even if the Belgian goes on to make a decent number of appearances this season, it is clear that he cannot be relied upon anymore, and that the club he is captain of will have to look beyond him.
Unfortunately for City fans, it appears they will have to look past Bonucci too.
