Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez could be set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a ‘low grade muscular injury’ while training with the Chile national team, report the Express.
The Express report that Sanchez will undergo further test to reveal the full extent of the injury, but he is expected to miss Chile’s clash with Colombia on Thursday.
No Arsenal player can better Sanchez’s Premier League tallies of six goals and three assists this campaign. He has been converted into a centre-forward by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and it has elevated his performances to unscaled heights. Olivier Giroud is having a tough time getting past the Chilean and winning back his starting spot.
If, as the Express report, it is a minor injury then Arsenal fans far and wide will be breathing one huge sigh of relief. They currently sit third in the Premier League and an injury to one of their key players could potentially derail their title challenge.
