Chelsea wouldn’t take “backbone-less” Ozil says former defender

Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has said that he “wouldn’t have Mesut Ozil anywhere near” his old club, saying that the attacker is one of the most overrated players in the Premier League.

Ozil is playing better than ever at the moment, and was named as one of the nominees for the PFA player of the year award for last season after creating 19 assists for his teammates.

The Standard quotes Cundy from his TalkSport show, where he also claimed that he would take Dele Alli ahead of Ozil.

“At least he has a backbone and heart for the fight” the presenter said.

This is not the first time Ozil has been called a flat track bully. When he moved to Arsenal from Real Madrid the rumours were that the hierarchy in the Spanish capital were not happy with the German’s performance in games against top clubs.

Arsenal are in a great position to win the title this year, and Ozil has started the season in good form. He will never have a better opportunity to prove his doubters wrong than this.
