Following on from a report on Friday that Manchester United could swoop for Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, it has led to some interesting responses on social media.
The Sun claimed that the German international had emerged as a target for the Red Devils as Jose Mourinho was ready to move for him if his contract talks with the Gunners continued to stall.
Admittedly, it is a concern for Arsenal fans that Ozil still hasn’t signed a new deal, but to suggest he’d be ready to move to a direct rival, that Arsenal would allow it and that United need another No.10 is a bit far-fetched to say the least.
That’s been the opinion of many other supporters on Twitter after the report was published, with many in disbelief as to where the speculation has come from.
The 28-year-old has been in great form so far this season, scoring seven goals and adding four assists in 14 appearances in all competitions, and he is undoubtedly an integral part of Arsenal’s future.
However, his current contract does expire in 2018, and there will be some nervous Arsenal fans over his future and the lack of progress in contract talks.
Nevertheless, we think United and Arsenal fans are in agreement that Ozil to Old Trafford is a pretty crazy rumour…
I will eat my Ozil kit if he goes to United https://t.co/SOzUO9K7Ea

If Ozil moves to United I'll actually be done with Football. I'll even trade in my FIFA 17 at CEX for 20p. I can't emotionally handle that
