Man City interested in signing £51M rated striker who has scored seven goals in eight league games

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is exploring the possibility of signing Porto youngster Andre Silva, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

A Bola report that Guardiola is watching the striker closely and that his £51 million buyout clause would not be an obstacle for a club with City’s financial power.

Silva made his competitive debut for the Primeira Liga giants less than a year ago, but has since emerged as one of the most exciting young strikers in the world.

This campaign he has been shown the full faith of Porto boss Nuno, and it has been repaid in full by his explosive goal-scoring form. Silva has begun his season with seven goals in his opening eight league games, only Guimaraes’ Moussa Marega has scored more than the 21-year-old.

His form on club level earned him a call-up to the Portgual national team. His international career started with four goals in four games, including a first-half hat-trick against the Faroe Islands last month.

If A Bola are to be believed, Silva could be joining up with Sergio Aguero to form an all-star strike-force. Premier League defences beware.
