Manchester United misfit who hasn’t scored since February scouted by Serie A giants

Memphis Depay was scouted by Juventus during the Netherlands’ 1-1 draw with Belgium, according to CalcioMercato.

CalcioMercato report that Juventus are in the market for a winger and that Manchester United could cash-in on Depay next summer. They also believe that the Serie A champions’ interest in the Dutchman dates back to before he joined United in the summer of 2015.

Depay last scored for United in February against Danish minnows Midtjylland. He has not found the back of the net in the Premier League since November 2015.

His move to Old Trafford has been somewhat of a disaster and a move elsewhere is likely the only way he will be able to progress. Depay is still only 22-years-old, but it’s unlikely he will ever realise his full potential while being frozen out by United boss Jose Mourinho.

In the 2014/15 campaign, he scored 22 goals in 30 Eredivisie appearances, as he played an integral role in PSV’s title triumph. Perhaps Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri feels he can help Depay rediscover that explosive goal-scoring form.
