Arsenal hare preparing to hold talks with Mesut Ozil as they look to extend the Germany international’s contract, according to the Express.
Ozil has two seasons remaining on his £140,000 a week deal. Per-the-source, the 28-year-old is holding out for a significant pay rise.
The report goes onto state that Arsenal have made progress with talks in recent weeks and are now entering a critical stage.
Meanwhile, the Express also states that Manchester United have shown an interest in the Germany international.
United boss Jose Mourinho brought Ozil to Real Madrid from Werder Bremen and is a long-term admirer of the 28-year-old.
Ozil has been in stunning form for Arsenal this season with four assists and seven goals in 14 apperances for the Gunners this season. The Germany international also provided a total of 19 assists for Arsenal last season.
Arsenal take on Manchester United in their next Premier League fixture on November 19.
