Chelsea target scored twice to remind Blues of his skills

One of the more convincing transfer rumours of recent times has been the idea that Marcelo Brozovic might move to Chelsea.

It makes sense of a number of levels. Firstly he fits the bill tactically – he’s a dynamic midfielder with plenty of technical ability whom Antonio Conte will know well from Serie A.

Chelsea are looking for reinforcements in midfield too, with Jon Obi Mikel and Cesc Fabregas looking set to move on in the summer if not sooner.

Rumours have circulated for some time, but they will grow even more intense after Brozovic netted twice for Croatia against Iceland last night. The first was ab absolute beauty, with the Inter man playing a wall pass off Mario Mandzukic, taking a touch on the edge of the box and then belting the ball into the side netting from the D.

The second was just as good, as the central midfielder showed a great burst through the middle of the pitch to make space, and then launch another rocket shot into the net.
