Chelsea legend set for MLS stay after shocking U-turn

It was only a couple of days ago that Frank Lampard was installed as favourite to be the next manager of MK Dons, but the press have already made a U-turn on that prediction and now have suggested the 38 year old is ready to carry on playing.

The Mirror claim that Lampard has had offers from two MLS clubs to continue his career in the states and the newspaper suggests Kaka’s Orlando City and LA Galaxy as possible destinations. Given that LA have just lost their star man in Steven Gerrard, that’s a move that would make sense.

There’s also the potential of a move back to Europe, but the former Chelsea man is unlikely to be able to compete in any of Europe’s top leagues at his age, and may prefer another comfortable role in an MLS side.

Chelsea are happy to welcome Lampard back as a coach whenever he is ready, claim the Mirror in a separate piece. But the hard working midfielder is not ready to quiet yet, and  apparently will play on for at least another season.

Whatever happens, fans won’t have to wait long. Lampard said that he will announce his next move “very soon”.
