Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe reveals 150 goal milestone is ‘dream come true’

Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has hailed the Black Cats performance against Hull City in the Premier League today.

The former England international scored his sides first goal and his own 150th goal in the 34th minute of the game to give Sunderland the lead.

Victor Anichebe netted a brace in the second half to secure all three points for David Moyes’ side.

Defoe took to social media after the game to heap praise on his teammates performances and put the win down to two weeks of hard work on the training fields.

The experinced striker also included the following caption alongside a photo of himself celebrating a goal with his teammates, “Unreal team performance , all that hard work in the week paid off , back to back wins , buzzing for all the boys and a dream come true to score 150 pl goals in front of the most amazing fans.”

Sunderland have now won back-to-back games in the League following a horrendous start to the season. Th Black Cats have moved off the bottom of the table and find themselves in 19th place with eight points after 12 games.

Liverpool host Sunderland next weekend at the Anfield stadium.
