Yaya Toure is well and truly back. After spending the opening months of the season in exile, he has marked his return to the starting lineup with a brace.
For his first goal, he linked with with Nolito before firing into the back of the net. As if that wasn’t enough of a statement made, he’s gone and scored another.
Toure got onto the end of a Kevin De Bruyne corner for his second of the game. The Manchester City faithful will no doubt be delighted seeing him back doing what he does best.
He may well have secured all three points for City today, as there is little time for Palace to find an equaliser. Either way, his performance will likely raise serious questions over Guardiola’s decision making, for it was his choice to continually omit Toure this campaign.
