Former Bayern Munich man calls Liverpool the best team he’s ever played against

Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has showered praise on this current Liverpool team after coming up against them in a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

The midfielder, who arrived from Bayern Munich this summer, has come up against some pretty tasty sides in his career already, so this is high praise.

The two sides battled each other to a standstill in a 0-0 draw, and Hojbjerg was clearly happy with that result against a Liverpool team that has blown opposition defences away in recent weeks.

Ironically, given Jurgen Klopp’s famous quotes about his football being the heavy metal to Arsene Wenger’s classical music; Hojbjerg also described the Reds play as “like a sympathy”, in quotes taken from Sky Sports.

Southampton’s best chance was a Charlie Austin header that missed the target, and they didn’t threaten much apart from that. But to go to Anfield and get a point this season is a very good result. It’s no surprise that Hojbjerg was delighted.
