Tottenham Hotspur fans will be buoyed by the latest quotes from star striker Harry Kane.

The 23-year-old, who scored a late brace to help Spurs come from behind to beat West Ham United 3-2 on Saturday night, is wanted by Manchester United, according to The Mirror.

However, The Mirror also claim that Kane is keen to stay at White Hart Lane, although he has urged Tottenham to sort him out with a new contract.

Kane is quoted as saying: “Hopefully we will have no issues with the contract.

“I am happy at the club and want to be here for a long, long time. We are in talks and I’m sure we will get something sorted.

“We’ve got a great young team, new training ground, new stadium being built, great young manager. The future is very bright. It’s important that we keep hold of all our players and keep building on this great team that we have.

“For us, now it’s to start winning trophies and competitions – that’s the next step.”

Kane is currently on £60,000 a week, per The Mirror, while the Daily Mail report that Jamie Vardy – Kane’s rival for an England starting place – earns £100,000.

Based on those figures, Vardy is paid £2.08m more than Kane per year.

Kane outscored Vardy in the Premier League last season, netting 25 goals to the Leicester star’s 24.

And, despite missing five games through injury this term, Kane is already ahead of Vardy in the Prem scoring charts again.

Kane’s brace against West Ham took him to five goals for the campaign, while Vardy is stuck on two.
