Arsenal transfer news: Wolfsburg refuse to rule out offloading Germany international

Arsenal have received a transfer boost in their hunt to sign the Germany international Julian Draxler, according to the Mirror.

Per-the-source, the Bundesliga giants have hinted at offloading their star asset over the summer following a disastrous start to their league campaign.

The reports states that Draxler wanted out over the summer transfer window however, Wolfsburg refused to sell the 23-year-old.

Wolfsburg general manager Klaus Allofs told the German outlet Sport1 that they may let Draxler leave at the end of the season.

“The story doesn’t help him, or Wolfsburg. It was catastrophic for the player,” Allofs told the German TV channel Sport1.

“We may evaluate the situation differently, and may do things differently next time.

“Does this mean letting him leave? Potentially.”

Draxler joined Wolfsburg from rivals Schalke 04 for £25 million back in 2015. The Germany international and scored nine goals in 34 games appearances for Wolfsburg last season.

However, the 23-year-old has failed to register a single assist of goal for the Bundesliga giants this season.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 16 games and salvaged a point against their rivals Man United on Saturday following a late goal from Olivier Giroud.
