Leicester City host Club Brugge tonight knowing that they will book their place in the last sixteen of the Champions League with a win.
The Foxes are unbeaten in their Champions League campaign so far and a win tonight would leave Porto as the only side that could catch them. That is, assuming that the Portuguese side beat FC Copenhagen in the other group G fixture. If Porto drop points and Leicester beat Club Brugge, Claudio Ranieri’s side will be through as group winners.
They know the situation, now can they deliver? Ranieri has opted for virtually the same team that was so successful during their against-the-odds Premier League triumph last campaign.
This season so far, Riyad Mahrez has been unable to recreate the sort of form that won him the PFA player of the year award last time around. His best moments this term, though, have come in the Champions League. He starts tonight on the right-hand-side of the midfield.
Ron-Robert Zieler deputises for Kasper Schmeichel in goal, with Shinji Okazaki partnering Jamie Vardy through the middle.
Leicester City starting XI: Zieler, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Mahrez, Drinkwater, King, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy.
Club Brugge starting XI: Butelle, Poulain, Simons, Mechele, Cools, Pina, Claudemir, De Bock, Vanaken, Izquierdo, Vossen.
