Tottenham are out of the Champions League at the group-stage after being beaten by two goals to one by AS Monaco.
Tonight was the final nail in the coffin of a Champions League campaign that has been extremely disappointing for the North London side.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men fell short of what was expected them, as individuals and as a collective group. Son Heung-Min has arguably been Spurs’ player of the season so far, but he was nowhere to be seen tonight. The same could be said for Harry Kane, he can usually be relied on to deliver for his side when they need him the most. Bar a penalty, which in truth was lucky not to be saved, he was mostly ineffective.
Understandably, many have been fast to bask in Spurs’ humiliation, with some taking to twitter to mock them. CaughtOffside has collated just a handful of them, if you’re a Tottenham fan, look away now.
