Chelsea transfer news: Key duo to sign new contracts, £9.4m bid made for striker and winger to return from failed loan spell

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is likely to be a busy man in the January transfer window, and speculation this week is certainly backing that claim up.

According to The Telegraph, he’ll be handed a boost after convincing both Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa to sign new bumper contracts.

Both have been in fine form so far this season after enduring difficult campaigns last year during which it was suggested that they could leave. However, now with the Italian tactician at the helm and Chelsea flying at the top of the Premier League table, it appears as though they could be ready to commit their futures.

The report claims that Costa will be handed a £200,000-a-week salary while Courtois can expect a boost up to £150,000-a-week.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are reportedly now favourites to land Swedish starlet Alexander Isak with the 17-year-old attracting plenty of attention from around Europe.

ESPN report that a source has placed the Blues at the top of the list of clubs trying to sign the youngster, and it’s claimed that they have even already submitted a £9.4m bid.

Meanwhile, Kenedy could be sent back to Stamford Bridge from Watford in January as the 20-year-old has failed to impress Walter Mazzarri, as reported by WD Sport.

While a knee injury has held him back, he’s made just one appearance for the Hornets and so his time at Vicarage Road could be coming to a premature end given his deal is a season-long loan spell.

With a run of six consecutive wins without conceding a single goal, Chelsea have marched to the top of the Premier League in recent weeks.

However, Conte will be keen to sustain that momentum where possible and January is likely to be a busy period for the former Juventus and Italy boss as he looks to bolster his squad further.
