Chelsea are set to renew their interest in Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan in the January transfer window, according to Nieuwsblad.

Nieuwsblad report that Antonio Conte’s side made considerable efforts to sign the Belgian in the summer, with several of his national team compatriots urging him to move to Stamford Bridge. However, he opted to stay as he is married to an Italian and has played in the country his entire professional career.

The situation now, however, has changed, according to Nieuwsblad. They report that negotiations over a new contract for the 28-year-old have taken far longer than expected, and if a sizeable offer comes in from Chelsea once more – he could make the move.

It is also reported that the Blues could sell any of Nemanja Matic, Oscar and Cesc Fabregas in order to free-up room in the midfield for Nainggolan. The prospect of seeing the combative Nainggolan lining up alongside the accomplished N’Golo Kante is one that would certainly excite the Chelsea faithful.
