Liverpool defeated Sunderland 2-0 this afternoon to go top of the Premier League table, at least until Chelsea face Tottenham later this evening.
Goals from Divock Origi and James Milner were enough to drag Jurgen Klopp’s side over the line in a game that was overshadowed by Philippe Coutinho sustaining what appeared to be a serious injury.
Amidst all of the drama, Liverpool reached an impressive milestone. As revealed by the club’s official Twitter page, the Reds have now scored 900 Premier League goals at Anfield. We’re sure there will be plenty more to come, too.
