Arsenal starlet set for fifth loan spell in two years with three clubs ready to snap him up

Arsenal will reportedly send striker Chuba Akpom out on loan again in January in order for him to gain regular first-team football.

The 21-year-old has been out of action since September with a back injury, but is said to be making good progress as he eyes a return in the coming weeks.

According to The Mirror though, he could be preparing for yet another loan move with Cardiff City, Fulham and Brentford all keen to sign him on a temporary basis.

Arsene Wenger rates the youngster, but appreciates the importance of him playing week in and week out and gaining experience as well as improving his fitness and form.

Akpom has made just one appearance for the senior Gunners side this season when he featured in the EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest in September, but wasn’t able to build on that due to the injury.

Although the move does make sense for him, it will potentially be frustrating as well given that this will be his fifth loan spell away from the Emirates in the last two years.

The talented forward has already been away at Brentford in 2014, while spells with Coventry City, Forest and Hull City followed.

In turn, he’ll be desperate to prove his quality with his next club and show Wenger that he can have an impact with Arsenal in the future rather than being offloaded further down the line having failed to make the cut.
