Liverpool team news: Klopp handed major boost as key star returns to training

Liverpool ace Adam Lallana resumed full training with his teammates on Thursday as he battles to be passed fit for this weekend’s clash with Bournemouth.

The 28-year-old has been out of action with a groin injury since suffering the setback while featuring for England in their 2-2 draw with Spain at Wembley last month.

However, Sky Sports note that he could now be ready to make his comeback with Liverpool hoping to pick up all three points in a tough away fixture at the Vitality Stadium.

It’s also a timely boost considering that Jurgen Klopp will be without Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian ace was stretchered off last weekend with scans revealing ankle ligament damage that will sideline him until mid-January.

However, as noted in the report, Klopp is confident that he has the squad to cope with his influential playmaker’s absence and Lallana’s return will undoubtedly be a major boost for him this weekend.

The former Southampton man had been in great form prior to the setback, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 11 Premier League outings.

He’ll hope to pick up from where he left off while Liverpool will hope to keep the pressure on their rivals at the top, particularly with Chelsea and Manchester City playing each other this weekend.

It won’t be easy against the Cherries who showed their quality in a hard-fought defeat at Arsenal last time out, but Klopp will be confident in the ability of his players to get the win.
