Basel vs Arsenal confirmed line-ups: Holding starts at the back and Lucas Perez is pushed out wide

Arsenal visit Basel this evening in their bid to finish top of group A and subsequently avoid the other group winners. The Gunners have shown in recent seasons just how essential it is to win your group, as they have found themselves with tough last-sixteen draws and been eliminated.

All Arsene Wenger’s side can do tonight is win and hope that PSG drop points at home to Ludogorets, however improbable that may sound.

They will no doubt be flying high after they demolished strugglers West Ham at the weekend. Notably Alexis Sanchez, who bagged a hat-trick against the Hammers, will be hoping for a similar performance tonight.

Wenger has made a couple of big decisions tonight. Youngster Rob Holding starting instead of Shkodran Mustafi in defence. Lucas Perez is also on the wing instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Theo Walcott. Will Wenger’s rotation prove costly for Arsenal? We are about to find out.
