Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and has saved his side from defeat in numerous occasions. However, perhaps he should think twice about doing so.
The Mirror cite French paper Le Soir in reporting that Lloris gets paid £3380 every time that his side lose. It seems completely bizarre that Spurs would hand a bonus to one of their players when they are beaten, but according to this report, that is exactly what they are doing.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have lost just one Premier League game so far this campaign, so you could argue that it has not been a very good campaign for Lloris on a personal level. He does, though, reportedly get a bonus of £6760 for every victory; which seems far more logical.
If this new information is to be believed, the Lloris has profited £16,900 from his side losing this campaign. It seems unlikely that the Spurs faithful will be particularly happy with this.
