Under-fire Manchester United star and Chelsea back-up ace targeted by ambitious Premier League rivals

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini and Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic are reportedly being targeted by West Ham United in January.

Slaven Bilic’s side have fallen to just a point above the relegation zone in the Premier League, and their 5-1 hammering at home at the hands of Arsenal at the weekend was just the latest wake up call for the club.

In turn, according to the Evening Standard, the Croatian tactician will look to bolster his squad in the January transfer window, with loan moves for Fellaini and Begovic being touted.

Fellaini could be seen as an ideal signing to add some steel and presence in midfield, a facet that is badly missing from the current West Ham side.

However, the Belgian international has come under fire from United fans for his performances since joining the club from Everton two years ago, but whether or not a move to London with less pressure on his shoulders suits him remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Begovic is also of interest to the Hammers as he continues to sit on the bench at Stamford Bridge as a back-up option behind Thibaut Courtois.

Darren Randolph has displaced Adrian in between the posts this season for West Ham, but a move for the 29-year-old former Stoke City goalkeeper could add more experience and leadership to the group.

Time will tell as to whether or not these moves go through, but Bilic is right to be scouring the transfer market as he needs to lead a turnaround sooner rather than later and not allow his side to fall deep into a relegation battle this season.
