Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil agents have teamed up to secure £300,000-a-week Arsenal contracts

The Sun columnist Neil Ashton has claimed that the agents of Arsenal pair Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have teamed up to get their clients new deals.

With the pressure building on the Gunners to offer their star duo significant wage rises to commit their long-term futures to the club, it’s suggested that agents Erkut Sogut and Fernando Felicevich are working in conjunction with one another.

According to Ashton, as per his Sun column, the agents are “running rings around Arsenal’s deal-maker” and they are sharing information with one another over money, bonuses and incentives and it is only leading to further pressure being put on Arsenal.

Ultimately, it’s added that the north London giants will have to splash out heavily to keep the pair, but at the moment Ashton claims that the respective parties are some way off reaching an agreement.

Both players have 18 months remaining on their current contracts, and while there isn’t a serious need to wrap talks up immediately, it will be a growing concern heading into next summer if either still haven’t put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

It’s suggested that both agents will take into consideration the possibility of a new Premier League broadcasting deal being agreed during the course of the next contract, and with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney earning just under £300,000-a-week, they believe that their clients are entitled to be in the same bracket.

On the whole, it’s a worrying time for Arsenal and their supporters as the report doesn’t paint a particularly positive picture of the current situation.

Sanchez and Ozil appear to hold all the power, and it sounds as though it will come down to whether or not Arsenal are willing to bow to the pressure and do whatever it takes to keep their star players.

While Sanchez has scored 13 and provided 10 assists in 20 appearances in all competitions so far this season, Ozil has eight and six in 19, thus underlining their importance to Arsene Wenger’s side.
