Everton could look to replace crooked winger with £31M Man United outcast who has scored just two Premier League goals

Everton are interested in signing Manchester United flop Memphis Depay in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Sun report that Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is in the market for a new winger in wake of Yannick Bolasie’s knee injury, which has ruled him out of action for the rest of the Premier League season. The tabloid believe that Depay is in the frame to replace him.

Manchester United signing Depay last summer for what the BBC reported as a £31 million fee. His electric form in the Eredivisie was what prompted United to part with such a hefty fee for an unproven player. Depay scored 22 goals for PSV in a title-winning campain. He has been unable to replicate that form at Old Trafford, scoring just twice in 33 Premier League appearances.

The 22-year-old could benefit from leaving United and playing regular football as he continues his development. A move to Everton and a link-up with compatriot Koeman could be exactly what he needs.
