Gary Neville hits back at Liverpool ace with hilarious response as war of words escalates

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has continued his war of words with Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius with a sarcastic Instagram post.

The shot-stopper came in for criticism after his blunder in the 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth last weekend raised questions about his ability to be Liverpool’s first-choice ‘keeper.

Neville was among those asking the question, as well as Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher who insisted that he hadn’t seen anything from Karius to that point to suggest he was good enough.

The 23-year-old responded in an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail, and while he had positive words for Carragher given his standing as a Liverpool icon, he was a little less keen on hearing Neville’s thoughts.

“And I don’t care what Gary Neville said. He was a top player, then he was a manager for a short bit and now he is back to being an expert again.

“But he is always very critical. I think he does it to everyone. I just hope that when I do well he will comment on that. We will see in the future.”

Neville couldn’t help himself and decided to have a pop back on Instagram. If anything, the former Manchester United man is enjoying distracting their bitter rivals and getting Karius involved in a war of words that he doesn’t really need to be in.
