Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is a target for Atletico Madrid with Diego Simeone set to leave the La Liga giants in the summer of 2017, according to the Mirror.
The Mirror report that Simeone has informed Atletico of his intentions to leave the club at the end of the season, with a move to the Premier League or former side Inter Milan both possibilities. The tabloid believe that Pochettino is high on their managerial wishlist to replace his compatriot.
It is also reported by the Mirror that the Spurs boss is interesting Atletico’s local rivals Real Madrid, though there does not appear to be any desperate need for change in the Bernabeu hot-seat.
For now, though Pochettino will be focusing on the task at hand at Tottenham. His side visit Manchester United this afternoon as they look to keep their title hopes alive. Spurs sit seven points behind leaders Arsenal going into today’s fixture and dare not fall any further behind.
