Arsenal fans scream fix but remain optimistic as Champions League draw pits them against Bayern Munich again

Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in the round-of-16 in the Champions League again this year, and there is a sense of optimism among their supporters.

The Gunners have met their German rivals at different stages in the last three seasons, with Arsene Wenger now having to plot their downfall in the knockout stage again.

Despite finishing top of their group and giving themselves the best possible chance of an ‘easier’ draw, it hasn’t worked out that way for Arsenal who will have to go through one of the favourites for the competition.

However, given that Bayern have failed to convince so far this season under Carlo Ancelotti, there is optimism within the Arsenal ranks on Twitter as they prepare for what will still be a really difficult task.

The Bundesliga giants are built to win the Champions League and have an ability to win big games one way or another. In turn, it will be a massive test of Wenger and his squad’s credentials in Europe this season.

Nevertheless, they did what they had to do at the group stage and will now welcome Bayern to the Emirates Stadium in the second leg next year while much could still change before those two fixtures come around.
